Hell and Back Fully Loaded Stage 3 Cylinder Head — C15

A fully loaded Stage 3 head for the Cat C15, with Inconel valves, bigger cooling ports and a higher-nickel casting.

Hack Nation's fully loaded Stage 3 cylinder head for Cat heavy engines. One head design covers the 3406E right through the SDP, so one head on our shelf handles most Cat rebuilds.

What makes it better

• Inconel intake and exhaust valves. A high-temperature nickel alloy on both sides of the head, for maximum heat resistance. Stage 2 heads get Inconel on the exhaust side only.
• Up to 30% larger cooling ports. More coolant flow through the head, for lower metal temperatures.
• Upgraded casting with 5–15% more nickel. A stronger, more heat-tolerant casting than standard.
• Fully loaded. Arrives as a complete assembled head, ready to install, not a bare casting.

Why it matters

• Heat is what kills heads. Inconel holds its strength at exhaust temperatures that wear out standard valves, and the bigger cooling ports and higher-nickel casting carry that heat away.
• Stage 3 is the benchmark. Going from Stage 2 to Stage 3 is all about the valves, and Stage 3 is the starting point for every head Hack Nation builds.

The Hack Nation stage ladder

Stage 1 is OEM-style. Stage 2 adds the bigger cooling, higher-nickel casting and Inconel exhaust valves. Stage 3 adds Inconel intake valves. Stage 5, Hack Nation's in-house head, builds on Stage 3 with Hell and Back coated cam bearings, superfinished valve springs and rocker shafts, on a CGI casting when available. Ask us about stepping up.

Cat C15, 3406E and C15 ACERT, including serial prefixes 2WS, 5EK, 6NZ and MXS. Also listed for C16 and C18. Not for B-model engines. Cross-reference: 2237263.
